Uses: Sulphuric acid has broad field of applications such as:
- Ore processing,
- Fertilisers manufacturing,
- Oil refining,
- Wastewater processing,
- Chemical synthesis,
- Production of phosphoric acid (H3PO4) by what is known as wet method (around 60% of produced sulphuric acid is used to produce phosphoric acid).
- Lead-acid batteries.
- Dehydration agent to remove water and dry carbohydrates and gases, e.g. N2, O2, CO2 and SO2.
